Who we are

Life Leadership Conference is a Virginia entity. This policy explains how we handle personal information through lifeleadership.org, hub.lifeleadership.org, the Life Leadership Hub, the Life Leadership Briefing, access requests, surveys, and related events and communications.

For privacy questions or requests, email support@lifeleadership.org.

Information we collect

Information you provide may include your name, email address, phone number, organization, professional role, location, interests, communication preferences, referrals, and answers to access or research questions. We also receive messages you send us and information you choose to provide through your profile or event participation.

Access requests may include information about your professional affiliations or mission alignment. Please provide only what is relevant to your request, and do not submit confidential information about clients, patients, or other people without authorization.

Account information includes authentication identifiers, sign-in provider information, membership decisions, and account status. If you choose a social sign-in provider, it supplies the identity information you authorize, such as your name and email address. Its own privacy policy also applies.

Technical and interaction information may include IP address, browser and device information, pages visited, timestamps, security logs, sign-in activity, and email delivery, opening, or link-click information where tracking is enabled. Hosting, email, video, and event providers may collect additional usage information under their own policies.

How we use information

We use information to review access requests; verify eligibility; provide and secure your account; deliver the Briefing and resources you request; administer events, surveys, referrals, and introductions; respond to you; and understand and improve the usefulness of our services.

We also use information to maintain preferences and consent records, prevent misuse, investigate security issues, meet legal obligations, and establish or defend legal claims. We do not use an access request as permission to publish your screening answers or add you to a public directory.

Service providers and sharing

We use service providers to operate the site and communicate with you. Depending on the features you use, these include:

  • Replit: website hosting, application infrastructure, database services, and associated technical logs
  • Clerk: authentication, account management, sign-in security, and related identity information
  • Attio: contact records, organizational information, access review, membership status, and relationship management
  • Beehiiv: newsletter subscriptions, preferences, delivery, and email engagement information
  • Resend: transactional and service emails, delivery information, and related communication records
  • Zoom: event registration, attendance, and meeting or webinar participation when you use those features
  • YouTube and other video or webcast providers: delivery of replays and live content, with playback and device information processed under the relevant provider’s policy

We may use hosting and communication analytics to understand website traffic, service performance, and email engagement. These providers receive information relevant to the services they supply.

We may share relevant information with another leader or organization when you request or agree to an introduction, or when you choose to participate in a shared event. Information you share with other participants is also available to those participants.

We may disclose information when reasonably necessary to comply with law, protect people or the services, address fraud or security issues, or in connection with an organizational restructuring or transfer, subject to applicable protections.

Cookies, analytics, and embedded media

Our site and authentication providers use cookies or similar storage for functions such as maintaining sign-in, protecting sessions, remembering preview access, and preventing abuse. Disabling these technologies can prevent some features from working.

Email analytics may use tracking pixels or tracked links where enabled. Embedded videos, live webcasts, and event services may also collect usage data and set their own cookies when loaded or used, including when you are signed into that provider separately. You can instead visit the provider directly where a link is available.

You can manage cookies through your browser and review privacy settings with your sign-in, email, video, and event providers. Where optional tracking requires consent under applicable law, it must not be enabled without the required consent. We do not treat this policy alone as consent to optional tracking.

Events and recordings

Events may be recorded or made available as replays. Recording notices and participation details will be provided for the event where applicable. Depending on how you participate, a recording may include your display name, voice, image, questions, or shared content. Consider these notices before turning on your camera, microphone, or sharing information.

Please do not share another person’s private information in an event without permission. Event recordings and platform data are also subject to the relevant provider’s terms and privacy practices.

Retention, security, and international processing

We retain information for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described here, including maintaining memberships and communication preferences, honoring unsubscribe requests, resolving disputes, and complying with legal obligations. The appropriate period depends on the type of information and why it is held. Some records may remain in backups for a limited period after deletion.

We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards appropriate to the information involved, but no website, email, or storage system can guarantee absolute security. Please do not send highly sensitive information through ordinary email.

We and our providers may process information in the United States and other countries. Privacy laws in those countries may differ from those where you live. Applicable requirements and safeguards depend on the services and processing involved.

Your choices and privacy requests

You can unsubscribe from newsletter emails using the link in those emails. Necessary account, security, or service messages may still be sent while you use the Hub. You may also ask us to close your account or update your information.

Depending on where you live and which laws apply, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or obtain a copy of personal information; withdraw consent where processing relies on consent; or object to or restrict certain uses. Some rights have legal exceptions. To make a request or ask about a decision on a request, contact support@lifeleadership.org.

We may need to verify your identity or an authorized representative’s authority before acting. We will respond as applicable law requires. We will not retaliate against you for exercising an applicable privacy right. You may also contact a relevant data protection authority where that right applies.

Children and eligibility

Hub membership is intended for adults age 18 or older. Our services are not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. If you believe a child has provided information, contact us so we can investigate and take appropriate action.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as our services or practices change. We will post the revised policy here with an updated date and provide additional notice where required by law. This policy is governed by applicable privacy laws; it does not limit rights that cannot lawfully be waived.
